Literally hot and spicy! Dominating in all dishes of Korean cuisine, this taste makes Korean people so proud of their strong personality and rich culture. In celebration of Kadayawan 2013, I, Jill, and Mikko went to a Korean restaurant near the city, to indulge our cravings with Korean dishes that would really spice up our day. As we arrived in the restaurant, we were immediately presented with a food menu of all the mouth-watering Korean dishes. Afterward, we ordered for three delightfully interesting dishes Kim Bap, Hemul Tukbigi, and Yukgaejang. Prior to the three main dishes, six Korean side dishes that triggered our appetite, with their initial spiciness, were served for us. Among the six, I most love the Kim chi (김치) and Kkakdugi (깍두기). They are enraged with the recent incidence happened to the Taiwanese fisherman who was shoot to death by some of the Philippine Coast Guard officials after the victim reportedly trespassed on the Philippine Sea . Right after the incident, the Taiwanese government as well as the family of the victim appealed for a public apology by the Philippine government. As response, the latter did what was requested yet the former still was not satisfied and raised other requests like the cancellation of the Visa approval of the OFW’s to travel to Taiwan. Subsequently, many discrimination cases to the Filipinos in Taiwan have been reported which resulted the Philippine nation to bother about the welfare of the many countrymen who are presently working there. Every one of us deserves to experience both happiness and sorrow because it should be understood that in happiness, we should realize pain of sorrow, and in sorrow, we should appreciate the value of happiness.
